Today we launched the Qwiki iPad app – moving the Qwiki experience off the desktop and achieving a key piece of our original vision. Check out all the amazing “finger friendly” features in the launch video:
Our iPad app highlights the appeal of the Information Experience by providing users with a beautiful, interactive, and intuitive way to discover millions of topics.
We’ve also included a feature that gives useful context to Qwiki’s current “reference” corpus: browse by map. The app allows you to explore the area near you, or anywhere in the world, by highlighting popular Qwikis on a worldwide map that supports any zoom level (check out the center of Paris or the entire Australian continent!).
With the release of the iPad app, Qwiki becomes the ultimate media format for the ultimate media consumption device. Next, we will open our publishing environment to transform content of all types into a premium experience for the iPad – followed by support for more devices (iPhone, Android, and iTV).
Who’s this app for? Anyone that’s curious! So download NOW and experience enlightenment, Qwiki style!
(Special thanks to our friends at Transvideo Studios for a fast and awesome job on the demo video!)
